what a piece of work is man

So many people on my f-list have work-type shenanigans. And now, I get to join in!

Got a job as a waitress in a restaurant in a hotel. The tips are amaaaaazing compared to what I used to get as a barista. Seriously. I used to get $10 tips in a week, if I was lucky, and now I'm making $10 tips a day just in cash, not including the tips I get from credit cards and room charges (which is significantly more than $10).

This is a good thing because I have a very strong desire to buy the new pokemon game with the pedometer gizmo, but I don't want to spend my paycheck on non-essential things. So, by only allotting my cash tips to fun things... after a mere three days of work I'm already 3/4 of the way there! :D

Of course, it's not all sunshine and daises. I have to get up at an ungodly hour, I don't have proper work shoes, and I haven't worked in a year so I'm wholly unused to standing on my feet for hours. This results in paaaaaaaaiin. Lucky, I'll only ever work 5-6 hours at a time.

Pros>cons. Yep.

...I suddenly no longer feel bad about how I get tipped at Steak 'n' Shake. Because when I work 6-hour shifts I can expect at least $50 in tips, cash and credit, unless it's over breakfast.
