BBC's Sherlock
Jul. 26th, 2010 08:03 pmHOLY CRAP OMGWTFBBQ THIS SHOW IS SO AMAZING!
Sherlock Holmes and Watson in a modern day setting-- it's really, really well adapted. Just aired yesterday, featuring Martin Freeman as Watson and Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock with Doctor Who's Steve Moffat as one of the writers.
I can't get over how much I enjoyed watching the first episode! There's a great deal of suspense and even some angst (injured Watson discharged from the military! Psychosomatic limp! D:) but it's just so much fun.
In the first few minutes Detective Inspector Lestrade is giving a press release about these odd serial suicides that are happening-- and Sherlock somehow sends texts to everyone in the room with the message "wrong!" at half of Lestrade's assertions.
And Sherlock and Watson are mistaken for a couple several times, which is srsly LOLworthy. Sherlock is such a spaz, but totally brilliant-- Watson is amazingly capable and totally fearless, it's gorgeous. I know what I'll be doing every Sunday night in the near future! Switching to a proxy-server so I can sneak onto BBC's iplayer >_>
P.S. There needs to be tv'verse slash, STAT.
